Detailed Itinerary of the 8 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

When you drop at the Kigali International Airport you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you to Volcanoes National Park located in Ruhengeri District. You transfer for a period of 2-3 hours and when you reach here you relax, then later have dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla view lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Wake up very early have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for short briefing about the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger guide enter the forest to track the Mountain Gorillas for 3-5 hours and when you meet them only an hour allowed in their presence taking various photos to keep for memories. After Gorilla Trekking proceed to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the dos and don’ts around the Golden Monkeys then later in groups with a park ranger, enter the forest to track the Golden Monkeys for 2-4 hours and when you meet them take many photos to keep for memories. After Golden Monkey Tracking proceed back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Day 4: Enjoy Culture at Iby’iwachu Cultural Village

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to the Iby’iwachu Cultural Village to enjoy cultural encounters as you do Music, Dance and Drama as you engage with the locals. You dress up like the locals then jump as you sing to the local music then later in the evening after the cultural encounter you return to your lodg for Dinner and Overnight. Day 5: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Wake up have breakfast then drive to Akagera National Park located about 5 to 6 hours’ drive from here. En-route enjoy views of the green terrain vegetation, birds and lunch. After driving for some hours you reach the park and check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 6: Game Drive & Boat Cruise in Akagera

Wake up early have breakfast then transfer for a Game Drive along the numerous tracks in the park watching wildlife enjoy their natural vegetation habitat. After the Game Dive, break off for lunch then later proceed to Lake Ihema for Boat Cruise where you watch hippos and crocodiles beneath the waters as well as other wildlife animals. After the Boat cruise, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 7: Sports Fishing in Akagera National Park

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Lake Shakani in Akagera National park to enjoy angling/ spots fishing where you catch the Tilapia and Cat Fish. After your sports fishing adventure, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 8: Departure to Kigali Airport

Wake up have breakfast then with your luggage embark on a departure to Kigali International Airport to board a flight back home.
