Detailed Itinerary of the 4 Days (Budget) Rwanda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Tracking Safari
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you are picked up by a driver guide to transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri District for a period of 2 hours. En-route visit the Genocide Memorials and National Museums, then later proceed to the Park and when you reach here, check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early have breakfast and transfer to the Park Headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger guide, enter the forest to track the Mountain Gorillas for 3-5 hours. When you meet them spend an hour in their presence taking various photos to keep for memories. After Gorilla Trekking, proceed back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the Park Headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Golden Monkeys then later in groups of 8 with a park ranger guide, enter the forest to track the Golden Monkeys 2-4 hours. When you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking various photos as you follow them as tey jump with in the tree branches. Dinner and Overnight. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day 4: Departure to Kigali
Wake up have breakfast then embark on your departure to Kigali International Airport to board a flight back home.

Follow the required precautions while in the presence with the Mountain Gorillas and these include;
- Keep calm and quiet while with the Gorillas
- Make sure you stay close with other colleagues (Stay in the group)
- Maintain a distance of 7 metres (21 feet) from the Gorillas
- Don’t eat or drink in the presence of the Gorillas
- You should in groups of 8 to trek Gorillas
- Clean your hands before trek
- Keep flashes out in your cameras
- Don’t throw rubbish around the forest vegetation
- When approached by a Gorilla (silverback Gorilla), crouch down slowly and don’t maintain eye contact
- An hour is allowed in the presence of the gorillas
