Lake Mburo National park
Lake Mburo National Park is located in the western part of Uganda a few kilometers off Mbarara Town offering amazing Wildlife Safaris to all kinds of travelers. The Park is situated in Kiruhura District about 240 kilometers (150 mi) by road West of Kampala with various wildlife animals you can watch like hippopotami, impala, warthogs, elands, buffaloes, jackals, leopards and over 300 bird species. It covers an area of 260 square kilometres (100 sq mi) making it the smallest National Parks in Uganda. It takes a traveller about 3-4 hours to reach the park and when you get here, enjoy wildlife tours.

Game Drives
Game Drives are the most prominent safari activity in the park and this incudes transferring along various tracks watching wildlife wander around their natural vegetation habitat. Watch various wildlife animals like hippopotami, impala, warthogs, elands, zebra, giraffes, buffaloes, jackals, leopards and over 300 bird species.
Launch Trips
Lake Mburo National Park is very ideal for travelers interested in Boat Cruises as this offers them along lake Mburo where you watch numerous species of wildlife like the Hippos, crocodiles, impala, warthogs, elands, zebra, giraffes, buffaloes, jackals, leopards etc. The Boat cruises have two sessions i.e the Morning and afternoon session.
Bird watching
Lake Mburo National Park is a birder’s paradise due to the various species of birds that inhabit the vegetation around. The Bird species you watch in the park include; the Rufous-bellied Heron, Bateleur, Coqui Francolin, Grey Crowned Crane, Black-bellied Bustard and Brown-chested Lapwing, Emerald-spotted Wood-Dove, Brown Parrot, Red-headed Lovebird, Ross’s Turaco, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, Green Wood-hoopoe, Common Scimitarbill, White-headed Barbet, Red-faced Barbet, Nubian Woodpecker, Red-shouldered Cuckoo-shrike, Long-tailed Cisticola, Yellow-breasted Apalis, White-winged Tit and Finfoot, rare Red-faced Barbet.
Hiking and Nature Walks
Lake Muro National Park is very ideal for interested in hiking and nature walking around the Park with a park ranger guide. You transfer to the salt lick at Rwonyo then to the Hilltop and Rubanga Forest for 2 hours beginning at 7:00 am. The walk to the top of the hill rewards travelers with scenic views at 9 of the 14 lakes in the region.
Sports Fishing
Lake Mburo is very ideal for all travelers on angling tour where yo catch fish. Ensure to carry your own fishing equipment or hire it then carry your fishing equipment permit to go fishing in the lake in company of a park ranger guide.
Horseback Safaris
Horseback safaris at Lake Mburo National park is an ideal to do at the Park in company f a skilled park ranger guide as you ride on a horse watching various wildlife animals interact and enjoy their natural vegetation habitat to the fullest. The animals you watch include; zebra, eland, buffalo, warthog, topi, impala, duiker, bushbuck and waterbuck. It takes 4 hours exploring the park as you transfer to the hill top for remarkable views at the lakes and vegetation terrain.
