Detailed Itinerary of the 4 Days (Budget) Congo Gorillas & Chimps Tour Virunga
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Goma in D.R Congo
On arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you are picked up by a driver guide who transfers you to traverse the Rwanda-DR Congo border into Goma Town. On arrival here have lunch then proceed to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Virunga National Park
Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas. After in groups of 8 with a park ranger enter the forest to track these for 3-5 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking various photos to keep for memories.
After Gorilla trekking, return back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.
Day 3 of the 4 Days (Budget) Congo Gorillas & Chimps Trek Virunga: Chimpanzee Trekking in Virunga National Park
Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the Park headquarters for briefing on the code of conduct around the Chimpanzees in their natural habitat at Tongo Forest. After in groups of 8 with a park ranger, enter the forest to track the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours and when you meet them, only an hour is allowed in their presence taking photos. After Chimpanzee trekking, return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.
Day 4: Departure to Kigali
Wake up have breakfast then embark on your departure to the Kigali International Airport to board your flight back home.

In Uganda the Gorilla Trekking Permit costs US $700 per person, Rwanda US $1500 per person and in the DR Congo US $400 per person. Depending on where you are going for the trek, a Gorilla Safari could cost US $2700 to US $5800 per person.
