Day 1 | Queen Elizabeth National Park | Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park from Entebbe Town | After your breakfast, our driver/ guiode will pick you from your hotel to transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park preferably using Kampala, Mubende, Fortportal , Kasese route, 7-8 hrs drive, ,429 km distance from Entebbe Town. One stop over at Fortpotal town to have lunch., then proceed to Lake Munyange caves lodge for one night.- to relax and rest in preparation of the majestic game drive- to see the big five, primate trekking and boat cruise on Kazinga channel, the next day |
Day 2 | Queen Elizabeth National Park | Chimpanzee trek, a game drive, and Boat cruise | Our driver/guide will pick you at 6:00am, after your breakfast to proceed to UWA office at Kasenyi sector to submit your park entrance receipt, and pay the vehicle entrance fee, pick a pack ranger to guide you on a game drive either in (Kasenyi plains, or Mweya peninsula or Ishasha plains) for 3-4 hours; and later embark on a guided primate walk to trek Chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge (1-4hrs based on their location), before proceeding for a boat cruise for 2hrs on Kazinga channel in the afternoon. [N,B if you want to enjoy Gorilla trekking at Mgahinga NP you will have to forfeit some expeditions in Queen Elizabeth to save time to drive to Mgahinga – Kisoro , 244kms , 4hrs drive. Enjoy a working lunch as you transfer to Kisoro to check in for your single night accommodation at Ichumbi hotel. |
Day 3 | Mgahinga Mountains Gorilla National Park | Gorilla Trekking | After your early morning breakfast, the driver/guide will pick you at 6:00am to proceed to the UWA park office where you are required to submit your gorilla trekking permit, register and get allocated to a group, participate in the general briefing led by the chief ranger, get your tools /equipment, packed lunch and water; request for a porter and walking stick if you need them, remember to dress appropriately in jungle walking attires, join your allocated group and proceed into the jungle walk to trek the gorillas for1-6hrs on average. After encountering on the gorillas, return to the base, to meet your driver to head for Entebbe for your return flight back home. Thank you for giving us a chance to server you. |
Day 4 | Mgahinga Mountains Gorilla National Park | Golden Monkey Trekking | Additionally, Mgahinga Mountains Gorilla National Park is also famous for Golden Monkey trekking. It is a prominent tourist attraction in Mgahinga National park. Golden Monkey trekking not only prompts the guest to dress up appropriately, but also requires you to submit the permit, register yourself, attend the debriefing session, secure a packed lunch and water from the hotel, oband a jungle walking stick and a porter to assist you to move swiftly while in the jungle to trel Golden monkeys. Golden trekking commences in the morning and runs from 30minutes-to- three (3) hours depending on their location. Once they are located, visitors are allowed to spend not more than one hour watching them to appreciate their behaviour and natural habitat. |
Day 5 | Mgahinga Mountains Gorilla National Park | Mgahinga Volcanoes Mountain Climbing/ Hiking | There are three prominent inactive volcanoes closely sitting next to each other and cordially very attractive to those visitors that are interested in Mountain hiking adventures. These volcanoes are:Gahinga (3474 metres above sea level), Sabinyo (3669m above sea level), and Muhavura ( 4127m above sea levels). Hikking each of these mountains to its peak takes 6hrs, 8hrs and 10hrs respectively. When hiking each of these volcanoes, you will appreciate the vegetation diversity, the spectacular views of other sister virunga volcanoes, Rwenzori mountain ranges, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Edward |
Day 5 | Mgahinga Mountains Gorilla National Park | Mgahinga Volcanoes Mountain Bird Watching | Although Birding is not as famous as Gorilla trekking in this particular National park (Mgahinga Volcanoes Mountain National Park), it is vital to appreciate that the park harbours more than 115 bird species in stock, to make it a potentially resourceful destination for birding adventures. Bird watching attraction areas are Montane forest, Bamboo belt, the Gorge trail between Gahinga and Sabinyo plus many more areas within Mgahinga Volcanoes Mountain National Park. Most common bird species include: Rwenzori batis, Brown Crowned Tchagra, Regal sunbird, Blue headed sunbird, Streaky seedeater, Bronze sunbird, dusky turtle dove, Olive thrush, Cape robin chat Red faced wooodland, Alpine chat, scarlet tufted malachite sunbird, Montane double collred sunbird, handsome francolin, crowned crane, black kite, crowned hornbill among others. |
Day 5 | Mgahinga Mountains Gorilla National Park | Batwa Trail and cultural Experience | It is on record that Batwa are the original people of the mountain forest in Kisoro, Bundibugyo, Rukungiri and Kibale before it was gazetted as a national park (Mgahinga Gorilla National Park) in 1991. A visit to the community to meet Batwa people in their homesteads is an interesting tour that provides opportunity to listen to their stories about their historical life in the forest, their previous hunting and gathering practices and their present way of living. It will take you about 3-4 hours |
Day 6 | Return to Entebbe | Departure | Transfer to the Entebbe International Airport to fly back home. |
